Confess

I just need to get this off my chest before the pressure breaks me.

To anyone reading this: I’m putting my pain into words because I’m completely exhausted and couldn't carry it alone anymore. I am 18 years old, and the pressure I am under right now is completely draining me. It all started with my school exams. I failed, but the truth is, I passed every single subject except for one. My family was so excited and waiting to celebrate, and I just couldn't bring myself to shatter their happiness. Out of panic, I told them I passed. But keeping this secret is eating me alive. I know the truth will come out eventually, and the thought of breaking their hearts terrifies me. My teacher believed in me so much, but his trust became another heavy weight on my shoulders instead of a comfort. In the end, I failed again. I feel so isolated. It feels impossible nowadays to find a genuine connection—someone you can just sit down with over a cup of coffee and share your deepest struggles without judgment. I’ve prayed thousands of times. I’ve been so desperate that I’ve begged God to take years off my lifespan just to let me pass and move forward. That is genuinely how suffocated I feel. There is a rule here that if you pass all subjects except one, you can still move to the next grade if the principal approves. But dealing with my school administration has been painful. I feel my principal is biased against me, and I’m terrified she will reject my request. I’m only 18, but my heart is constantly pounding, my head aches, and I am physically drained. I just needed to lay all of this out to the world. Thank you for reading.
